Located in Downtown Toronto, this unique 13-acre area features restaurants, bars, shops and cafes in more than 40 buildings from the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery. Toronto's Distillery District originated in 1832 when Gooderham and Worts Distillery opened and grew to be one of the largest distilleries ever. It stopped operating in the 1990s and the district was re-developed into a commercial area that has one of the largest concentrations of Victorian-era structures in the world. Toronto's Distillery District is a National Historic Site of Canada.
