The Midtown Manhattan cultural institution has one of the greatest collections of modern art in the world with more 150,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs and other pieces as well as approximately 22,000 films and four million film stills. The Museum of Modern Art was established in 1929 expanding throughout the years to move three times before settling in its current location in 1939. The MoMA site contains the 630,00-square-foot Main Building, The Peggy and David Rockefeller Building, The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden.
