San Diego's top tourist attraction brings nearly five million people per year to the Southern California city and features entertaining sea animal attractions and interactions, exciting theme park rides, vibrant aquariums, spectacular shows and a massive oceanarium all located on 190 acres in Mission Bay Park. SeaWorld San Diego's aquatic residents include different species of whales, dolphins, sea turtles, sea lions, otters, sharks, walruses, penguins, rays and fish. The marine park was opened in 1964 by four University of California graduates and its first killer whale was named Shamu.
