Often just called Bay Bridge, this 10,304-foot long structure crosses San Francisco Bay directly connecting the Northern California cities of San Francisco and Oakland. San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge was constructed from 1933-36 and bridge opening celebrations lasted five days. A 2.78-mile East Span addition that opened in September 2013 earned the suspension bridge the title of Guinness Book of World Records Widest Bridge in the World.
