This unique amphitheater near Denver is actually made of red sandstone and renowned for the superior acoustics provided by the rock pillars. Red Rocks Amphitheatre was opened in 1906 by businessman John Brisben Walker and hosted world-famous acts like The Beatles, Grateful Dead, U2, Dave Matthews Band and John Denver. The natural arena is located within Red Rocks Park and the concert tour trade magazine "Pollstar" named it one of the best small outdoor venues so many times that it ended up calling the honor The Red Rocks Award.
