Named in honor of the May Revolution in 1810, the Plaza de Mayo is a key political center in Buenos Aires's politics and to this day is used by protesters for demonstrations. It is home to the Cabildo, the May Pyramid, the Casa Rosada, The Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires and the headquarters of the Nacional Bank.
