Situated in Downtown Toronto's Queens Park, the elegant Richardsonian Romanesque style building constructed in 1893 contains Ontario's Lieutenant Governor's Suite, Legislative Chambers, Legislative Library and the Speaker's Apartment. The Ontario Legislative Building was designed by Richard Waite with oak floors in the East Hall and Italian marble floors in the West Hall. Artist Gustav Hahn painted elaborate murals on the walls and ceiling of the Legislative Chambers. Portions of the building had to be rebuilt after a 1909 fire.
