The Canadian city of Moncton is situated in the Petitcodiac River Valley and the geographic center of the Maritime Provinces. Though Moncton was originally settled in the 18th century, it is believed that the city was first settled in the 17th century by Acadians that had already settled in the head of the Bay of Fundy. Moncton's history from then on became widely known for its railway and land transportation, earning the city the nickname "Hub City." The cit of Moncton is recognizable due to its many tall buildings and architecture, including the famous Bell Aliant Tower, the tallest structure in New Brunswick. The city is also known for their gravity hill, Magnetic Hill, and for surrounding theme and entertainment parks that are situated in the area surrounding Magnetic Hill.
