Dedicated to Beatles musician John Lennon, this wall became a symbol of freedom for Prague young rebels as the country was ruled by Communism. Lennon portraits, graffiti poems and Beatles songs were spray-painted on the once-ordinary wall beginning in the 1980s as many were inspired by the singer and group's message of political independence and peace. Many say that the Lennon Wall was an inspiration for the Velvet Revolution that eventually caused the fall of Communism. The landmark continues to change throughout the years with new graffiti.
