Located 60 km east of Havana, Jibacoa is a fishing village in the Mayabeque Province of Cuba. Smaller than nearby Varadero, it contains several all-inclusive resorts, and is popular with both foreign tourists and locals alike. There are impressive coral reefs located a few meters from the beach, offering fantastic snorkeling and scuba diving. Jibacoa was one of the first places opened in Cuba to foreign investment. One impressive attraction nearby is the Puente de Bacunayagua, Cuba’s longest and highest bridge, which opened in 1959.
