This crystal turquoise lake lives up to its dazzling name and is the largest lake in British Columbia's Yoho National Park. Emerald Lake is surrounded by President Range, Mount Burgess and Wapta Mountain. It was discovered by Tom Wilson in 1882 and glacial particles are said to cause the beautiful green-blue color of the water. The luxury resort Emerald Lake Lodge is situated on a peninsula near the lake that is a popular tourist destination throughout the year because of its many recreation options.
