This fortress on Lake Geneva was court for the Dukes and Counts of Savoy. It is most famous for imprisoning Francois Bonivard, which Lord Byron immortalized in his poem “The Prisoner of Chillon.” Today the chateaux’s three courtyards are used for events and performances. Its great halls look out on Lake Geneva and hold events as well.
