Today we'll get all your local essentials set up before showing you around Queenstown, a backpacker hub that's known as the adventure capital of New Zealand.
The good news is that our first jolt of adrenaline isn't far off, as this afternoon we'll be zipping through Skippers Canyon on a jet boat going over 80 km/h. Tonight we'll top off our first day of exploring by seeing what Queenstown has to offer after dark!Day 03![Te Anau]( "Te Anau")
Queenstown - Milford Sound - Te Anau

Leaving Queenstown, today we're heading to the majestic Milford Sound. We'll hop on a boat to cruise around the fjord, feeling tiny amongst sheer cliff faces, ancient forests, and plunging waterfalls. We might even spot some fur seals lazing about!

Today we check out all Wanaka has to offer, including going kayaking on the beautiful Lake Wanaka. Discover Ruby island, a tiny island off of Lake Wanaka. Stroll around the entire island, swim or just relax and take in the beautiful landscape.

Wanaka - Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park

Waving goodbye to Wanaka, We'll enjoy a scenic drive through the southern alps towards Tekapo. Known for its milky turquoise hue, Lake Tekapo is an alpine oasis!
This afternoon we'll stretch our limbs hiking the iconic Hooker Valley track. This walk winds us through the valley to grant unforgettable views of Aoraki/Mt Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand.Day 07Lake Tekapo

Today we'll take a hike up Mt John where we'll get 360-degree views of the Southern Alps as well as a stunning bike ride around Lake Tekapo. After the walk we'll soak our tired muscles in some hot pools.

- We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 10-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. We will be using mainly trains for transport so dragging around a huge suitcase is not much fun. Depending on your onward travel plans there is luggage storage at the airports or at some accommodations if needed.
- Please bring all valuable items with you at all times. Do not leave valuable items on the bus or at the hotel, attraction, or restaurant. Tours4Fun, local operators, drivers, and tour guides are not responsible for any loss or theft at any location.
- Depending on your arrival time, your hotel room may not be available until the afternoon. Most hotels allow check-in between 1:00pm-3:00pm, however some charge a fee for early check-in. Please check at the hotel desk to see if you may store your luggage at the hotel if you wish to explore the city on your own before check-in.
